Ipads in education?
As my district contemplates future purchases, the Ipad discussion begins. Are Ipads the future of textbooks? Are they more cost effective? Are they a diversion, as President Obama suggestions, or a "means of emancipation"?
The following article hits on some of the most frequent issues dealing with Ipads in education: http://www.convergemag.com/classtech/Impact-iPad-K12-Schools.html

A trip down memory lane with my grandmas...
As I reflect on my youth and the wondeful memories that dotted it, one memory keeps flashing back: singing Louis Armstrong's "Bill Bailey" with Maw-maw Dorothy and Maw-maw Shelton, my dad's mother and grandmother.
Maw-maw Dorothy and Maw-maw Shelton used to sing, "Won't you come home, Bill Bailey, won't you come home? I'll do the cookin', honey." Then, both would stop and give me the floor, at which moment, I would belt out, "I'll pay the rent!"
I feel blessed to have been surrounded by such cultured, charming, and strong women growing up. And, today's post is in honor of two wonderful ladies.
